High School for not doing the pledge of allegiance one time, I am incredibly grateful to see this being said, as well as the discourse in general. There is nothing wrong with being thankful for your country or your servicemen. And women, active or veteran. However, this 5 days a Formal I Wear Red For My Sisters Indigenous Woman Art Stolen Shirt irked me growing up, especially growing up agnostic/atheist and having to utter the words “Under God” every school day. We shouldn’t be forcing kids through coercion that goes along the lines of. You need to do the pledge to give all the soldiers. And people who let you have freedoms respect, so do the pledge every day. It’s fucking disgusting and antithetical to a free world, making children pledge their loyalty to a supposedly free country.
Formal I Wear Red For My Sisters Indigenous Woman Art Stolen Shirt, Tank Top, V-neck, Sweatshirt And Hoodie
Socially pressuring them and conditioning them. It’s textbook indoctrination, end of. And it needs to stop. I felt the same when I was in HS in the early 2000s. I just didn’t sing the song. It would just put my hand over my heart and stand there. No teachers ever gave a Formal I Wear Red For My Sisters Indigenous Woman Art Stolen Shirt. I personally just refused to stand up and do the pledge because I just didn’t want to. My teacher at the time said that I should’ve done it out of respect for our soldiers. I argued that “no I shouldn’t have to say the pledge if I don’t want to, and the under god line is offensive to me, a person without a religion” paraphrasing, it’s been a handful of years.
